Over 75 patients and family members attended the 2-hour session at Corniche Hospital’s outpatient waiting area where presentations about SEHA, Corniche Hospital, follow up from the last Mas’ool events and future improvement plans at the hospital were presented. The interactive town hall meeting saw several Corniche Hospital’s patients appreciating the quality of care and experience they receive at the hospital. The feedback came in the form of compliments on the hospital’s doctors, midwives and nurses. The patients also appreciated the facility enhancement initiatives and the clean and welcoming environment. The patients also found the idea of the Mas’ool platform very valuable to provide feedback and interact directly with the administration. They welcomed more such exchanges. On the other hand, the patients also expressed concern on the lack of private rooms, waiting period and triage process in Urgent Care department. The theme of the event “Be the one to make a difference” aimed to boost morale and motivate teamwork to achieve great customer service. The week started with an Open Day that included interactive exercises, quizzes and games organised by the Patient Experience Team for all Corniche staff. More than 150 clinical and non-clinical staff participated in the event’s opening day with several of them being rewarded with recognition and prizes.Activities continued throughout the week in Urgent Care, Outpatient Department, Medical Imaging Department and Women’s Health Center. Each Unit Manager / HOD received Working on Wonderful “WOW Cards” which were distributed to staff members who went the extra mile in customer service.The staff on day & night duties received a “Thank You” message with a flower as recognition for their great work and commitment from the Patient Affairs staff.On the other hand, patients received ‘Refresher Goody Bags’ and education material. Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 2012Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 2012Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign 20122012-10-18T07:00:00Z196Corniche HospitalCorniche Hospital hosted the 2012 Annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign at the hospital in the month of October.Under the theme “Detect it early and save your life,” the 2012 Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign kicked off in October with an aim to educate and motivate women, to set examples and lead the fight against this disease.Corniche Hospital in collaboration with Tawam Hospital began the Breast Cancer Awareness campaign at the Women’s Health Center on 10th of October. The Tawam mobile mammogram at the Women's Health Center provided free mammogram checkups and educational materials for all women. Over 50 women registered and underwent the screening at the center.On 18th of October, Corniche Hospital hosted a lecture by Dr. Muna Al-Ayyan from Tawam Hospital at the Parent Education Center. Dr. Muna spoke on “Breast Cancer – Myths and Facts” and Dr. Grace Edwards, Corniche Hospital's Assistant Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Roxy Fulton, Charge Midwife, VIP, Corniche Hospital presented an inspiration talk on their experiences with Breast Cancer.In addition, the Marketing staff held a simple quiz for the audience with prizes to be won.
