Breastfeeding Support Group
Corniche Hospital's Mom-to-Mom Breastfeeding Group helps new and expectant mothers with breastfeeding and parenting skills. The group follows The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) theme this year, which is 'Breastfeeding Support – Scoring the Winning Goal for Life'.
As breastfeeding is a new experience that can be challenging, the group sessions encourage all mothers or moms-to-be to share their breastfeeding and parenting experiences.
The supportive, nurturing environment of the group allows new and expectant moms to build confidence in their own breastfeeding skills, as well as to socialize with other mothers and babies.
The baby's weight is recorded at every session and issues are discussed with the lactation consultants. Mothers may celebrate their babies' birthdays and milestones with the group.
The Mom-to-Mom Breastfeeding Support Group meets every Monday from 16:30 to 19:00 at the hospital's Parent Education Center, which is located in the hospital complex. The classes are free to attend for patients who are registered at Corniche Hospital.
