Dr. Zahid is American board-certified in Internal Medicine and Nephrology. He completed his medical degree (MBBS) at Rawalpindi Medical University in 1986, followed by an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of North Carolina (1993–1996), a Fellowship in Nephrology and Hypertension at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, USA (1996–1998), and a Fellowship in Rheumatology at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA (1998–1999). He served as Chair of Nephrology at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in partnership with Mayo Clinic (2020–2025, Earlier roles included Department Chief at Mafraq Hospital (2018–2020), Consultant Nephrologist (2013–2018), Secton Head of Nephrology at King Fahad Specialist Hospital, KSA (2007–2013), Chair of Nephrology at Commonwealth Health Corporation, USA (2001–2007), and Nephrologist at Tawam Hospital (1999–2001). Dr. Zahid provides expert, care for patients with nephrotic syndrome, including glomerular diseases and podocytopathies, as well as those with chronic kidney disease.
